Trivia

  • The original owner tried to mount a Gotek drive, but did a poor job cutting out the drive bezel, ruining the original case.
  • Machine was heavily yellowed.
  • It came with a Marpet Developments M1207 Expansion that provides up to 8MB RAM, RTC, and an FPU slot. It was equipped with a 4MB DIMM. An 8MB DIMM is on storage, but it would interfere with the PCMCIA slot.

Restauration Works

  • Right and middle mouse buttons did not work. Fixed by replacing E353R, E354R, E363R, E364R with ferrite beads.
  • Replaced the damaged original case with a black replica case.
  • Replaced all electrolytic capacitors with Panasonic (up to 10,000h lifetime) or Würth Elektronik (up to 5,000h lifetime) ones.
  • Replaced the floppy drive with a CenturionTech GOEX on pills floppy simulator + OLED display
  • Replaced the hard drive with a SD to IDE adapter and a raiser board that fixes the “LED always on” issue.
  • Replaced the original LED board with custom made LEDs (HDD: red, FDD: green, Power: blue).
  • Extended the system with HDMI output.
  • E123C and E125C (turbo expansion stability fix) were not populated, no need to take action.
  • Replaced many missing screws.
