Personal Digital Assistants
Personal Digital Assistants were the precursors of modern smartphones. They offered phonebooks, calendars, memo books, and often more software could be installed or added via modules. Later models offered a touch screen that could be used with a stylus for writing. The only thing that isn’t possible with PDAs is connecting them to a cellular network. The reason was that at the time, cellular networks were mainly used for voice, and only had extremely limited data capabilities.
