Sinclair

The Sinclair ZX80, and its successor ZX81, were probably the first computer models that could be afforded by normal households, when other “affordable” computers had a price tag in the range of a small car. The ZX Spectrum got color, graphics, and rudimentary sound, and soon found a lot of fans for many years to come. Unfortunately Sinclair eventually lost the race against manufacturers like Commodore.
